Brooklyn’s Anbessa Orchestra. It’s their first release since last
year’s slinky “Werik’i (Gold).” </p>

<p>Despite being recorded
remotely under pandemic protocol last summer, “Gobez” still has
the organic-feeling interplay among players, lines that intertwine,
escalate and modulate.

<p>In an email, band
guitarist and arranger Nadav Peled said the group is planning on
recording a new EP in August, and "Gobez" may or may not make the cut, but <em>as</em> a cut it's making my day.</p>
