Atumpan's New "Clap Clap" Video

Check it. Atumpan AKA “Talking Drum,” just released a new video for his single “Clap Clap.” Atumpan, who was recently nominated for a MOBO Award for ‘Best African Act,’ is a Ghanaian Afrobeats sensation. He performs in English, Pidgin and Twi, and is well known for a controversial hit single, “The Thing,” a song which generated a certain amount of controversy around its subject matter.

Continuing in the Afrobeats meets Euro-pop style of "The Thing," Clap Clap marries a syncopated digital rhythm to straight ahead synthesizer pulse, creating a sound that lands somewhere in between D'banj and will.i.am. In the video itself, Atumpan rolls with dapper swagger, sporting a top hat and smoking a cigar. While the song is once again an infectious ode to those pretty ladies, this time there is little potential for controversy, only the chance to enjoy some party-starting Ghanaian pop and a video featuring the charismatic singer boogieing down with the ladies of his life.
