A Special Message From Aurelio Martinez

We haven't exactly been secretive about how excited we are for the upcoming Afropop 30th Anniversary Gala, May 3 at City Winery in New York. And one of the things we're most looking forward to is inducting Aurelio Martinez into the Afropop Hall of Fame.

In addition to being an incredibly gifted musician and charismatic performer, Aurelio is a major living-tradition bearer of Garifuna culture—something like the global ambassador for the Garifuna Nation. Garifuna are people of Amerindian and West African descent who live along Central America’s Caribbean coast. It's an honor to include him in our Hall of Fame.

And Aurelio's looking forward to it too! We got a video message from him this afternoon to pass along to you.

Does that whet your appetite a bit? Tickets are going fast so get yours sooner rather than later!
