Afropop Worldwide SXSW Showcase Confirmed Lineup and Schedule

Afropop's very first South by Southwest showcase is all set in stone (such as it can be) for this year. We’ve got a killer lineup, confirmed for Fri., March 15, 2019 at the Palm Door in Austin, Texas.

Check this out:

7:30: Nsimbi (Uganda/Congo)

8:30: Aramide (Nigeria)

9:30: AfrotroniX (Chad/Canada)

10:30: Jojo Abot (Ghana)

11:30: Shirazee (Benin)

12:30: Adekunle Gold (Nigeria)

As anyone will tell you—heck, as Afropop has told you—sorting out visas for African musicians to come to America is a huge pain, fraught with bureaucratic snares and ending up in heartbreak with disappointing regularity, which is why the lineup has shifted a couple of times since we first announced the showcase. But these artists are confirmed, so any changes will only be the addition of maybe another special secret guest. We’re pretty happy for this; if you’re in Austin in March, we bet you will be too.
