Amayo Announces Debut CD release

<p><strong>Amayo</strong>, the former frontman of <strong>Antibalas</strong> and a key figure in bringing Afrobeat to global audiences, will announce his debut solo album tomorrow AM: <strong><em>Lion Awakes</em></strong> will be released <strong>Jan 17</strong>. Drawing from his Nigerian Edo heritage and Kung Fu practice, the 5-track album blends Afrobeat rhythms with stories that connect African and Chinese traditions. </p> <p>The first single, “Black Magic Sister,” is described by Amayo as being “about offering Blessings for an abundant mindset.
