globalFEST 2020

<p>New York City's <strong>globalFEST</strong> is a landmark musical event every January, a sonic feast featuring 12 artists on three stages in a single winter night. In this program, we hear extended live tracks from Senegal's <strong>Cheikh Lo</strong>, also <strong>Meklit</strong>, <strong>Les Amazones D'Afrique</strong> and dynamic new sounds from Turkey and South Korea. Rising star in Algerian <em>rai</em> music <strong>Sofiane Saidi</strong> makes his U.S. debut. In a season when we are being denied live music experiences, a virtual soiree at 2020's globalFEST edition may just be the next best thing.</p>
